Several additional layers of lacquer are applied, and once hardened, it is polished.

    Outstanding pen

    I recently received my Namiki Nippon Art Dragon with Cumulus Fountain Pen, Maki-e. By far the most beautiful pen I own. It is stunning. Have not inked it yet but if it writes half as good as it looks it will be amazing.
