Vostok Europe Energia II Bronze Automatic Watch with Brown Dial.
Energia II takes its name from the Energia launcher. It first flew in 1987 after 10 years of development and could carry payloads of up to 100 tons. Cast bronze forms the case, while a dial opening reveals the balance beside a power reserve indicator.
The bronze case is 48 mm in diameter and 17.3 mm thick. Made in Japan, the S.Epson YN84 automatic caliber powers the hours, minutes, seconds, and a 24-hour indicator. It has a power reserve of 41 hours when fully wound. A K1 crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. The crown screws down, and the unidirectional bezel carries a diver scale. A spring-loaded valve releases helium from the case once the pressure difference reaches a critical level.
On the brown dial, tritium tubes illuminate the dial and hands, and 1 more sits in a sapphire capsule on the bezel. The watch includes a leather strap and a silicone strap, measuring 26 mm at the lugs, along with a replacement tool.

What was the Energia rocket?
The launcher of the Soviet Energia-Buran program. It first flew in 1987 after 10 years of development and could carry payloads of up to 100 tons. Vostok Europe has built its watches in Vilnius, Lithuania, since August 2003, using Russian movements until 2014 and Japanese movements since.
How do the tritium tubes work?
Each marker is a sealed glass tube in which tritium gas makes a luminescent coating glow continuously without charging. The Trigalight tubes are made in Switzerland by MB-microtec, a Vostok Europe supplier since 2009. After about 10 years, their brightness settles at approximately 50 percent.
What is the helium release valve for?
Saturation diving. Helium enters the case under pressure and escapes slowly during decompression, and the valve opens automatically to vent it before the pressure can push the crystal out.
What is K1 crystal?
A synthetic crystal that combines the shock resistance of hardened mineral glass with scratch resistance close to that of sapphire. On these cases, it has an anti-reflective coating to improve readability.
How does the case size affect the fit on the wrist?
The distance between the lugs is 60.2 mm. That span across the top of the wrist matters more for fit than the 48 mm case diameter.
