As a first time watch buyer it wasn’t easy making an online purchase. I had to do a lot of research on both - what watch to get, and which retailer to get it from.

Having watched a tonne of videos on everything that’s available in the 1K$ range for a dress watch, I finally settled on the understated elegance of the Junghans Maxbill design. The only question left was what size to get. Personally, I prefer a watch with a smaller presence on my wrist. So, I hesitantly chose 34 mm and wondered if I had chosen far below the modern standard for a male wrist.

As for the retailer, there weren’t enough reviews available to pick from but Iguana sell seemed to be legit and I was getting the best deal on this watch in the precise configuration I wanted, sapphire crystal and all. Once again, I reluctantly took a shot wondering whether it was ok to order a watch from outside the US.

But here’s the good part, I was right on both counts. I picked a great watch from a great retailer.

The watch arrived in a few days, nicely packed and secure. Iguana sell’s email notifications about the delivery were on point as well.

About the watch, its a beautiful dial that both me and my wife absolutely love. The strap is ok, but I already replaced it with a burgundy leather strap that gives it a bolder presence on my wrist. Lastly, as a first time purchaser I actually enjoy engaging with the dial every morning to hand wind the watch.

This deal has my stamp of approval for sure!

The product is great - a slightly flexible Montblanc nib capable of generating fine or thicker lines (though the springiness and transition from fine to broad could be better - Pilot has really mastered this).

Iguana’s shipping, pricing, and communication were great, not to mention that they actually had one of these while no one in the US did (including Montblanc boutiques!). If US customs hadn’t delayed things, I would’ve gotten it very quickly.

This is a beautifully writing pen. The ink flow is smooth, the capacity lasts through several days of 2-3 page journaling, & the pen’s look is classic without being boring. I have large hands and it fits well even without posting.

The Montblanc Calligraphy is everything I expected.
I was surprised at the haphazard packing for overseas shipment for such expensive pen. The shipping box is flimsy with no secure structure. Only One thin bubble wrap and One small square bubble used. When I opened the sleeve and the inner hard case, the pen was rolling around free during the entire 5 days of shipping time. Thankfully the pen was not damaged rolling around in the cushioned hard case. My friends who have previously purchased items from your reputable store told me they were surprised about how carelessly and inadequately my pen was shipped and handled. They never got the same treatment and were very happy with your services. I truly hope my experience was an anomaly or a fluke. Regards, Robert

Wanted a gold-tone white dial Max Bill with this number display (Type B Flieger with larger inner hour numbers and much smaller outer minute numbers) and quartz for simplicity and lower cost. Delivery from Spain to San Francisco CA took just four days from order to receipt.
