The Sailor 1911, Large, is perhaps, not as big as you may consider; it is not small by any means, rather more, a medium sized pen. That said, this will sit well in anybody’s hand (except the most diminutive). Finished in a high gloss, black resin, & this model, accented in Rhodium - you can select the gold or Rose gold, but my preference is for silvered cap bands, clips & nibs.
In all the fountains I possess, Sailor has to have the most beautifully decorated nibs on the planet - & I am not alone in that assertion: laser etched engraving, then finely polished, make this writing instrument stand out in the crowd. As with many Sailor models, it comes in a variety of colours & three sizes - Standard, Large, & ‘King Of Pen(s)’, & accordingly, vary in price range.
The model I chose is outfitted with a Medium Fine 21K Rhodium plated nib, with the smallest degree of flexion (this is not categorised as a semi-flex/flex nib - all Sailor nibs are of a Hard designation); if you’re careful you may be able to squeeze a little line variation out - but do not push it ! Feedback with this nib is more than with, say, a Medium, but it does offer both fine & medium lines, dependent upon the attitude of blade to paper (angle).
The writing experience is pleasant & consistent; build quality, superb.
If you favour a piston-fill mechanism, the Realo range - in both ‘1911’ & ‘Professional Gear’ is readily available, but again, commands a commensurate price tag.
Delightfully engineered writing implement.
This is my first Sailor Professional Gear (ProGear) fountain pen. Initially, it was the Blueberry colour to the cap & barrel that attracted my attention, accented beautifully with Rhodium plating. The 14K nib, in Medium, glides over the paper, effortlessly - & given that Sailor’s reputation for feedback, well known, I found no such evidence in this particular nib width; ink delivery by way of a cartridge or converter (proprietary fit, only).
The pen itself comes in the standard Navy Blue box, encased in a white card outer sleeve; the interior to the case, an off white, cushioned pad.
This isn’t a huge pen, but sits comfortably in (my) hand, posted. I like the squared-off cap & blank of the barrel, & the attention to detail is unsurpassed.
Do be aware, the aforementioned “feedback” may be present in their finer nib widths ~ EF & F, but I suspect this is not untenable. Those that I am acquainted with in the Fountain Pen Community, prefer a small amount of resistance whilst writing.
A fine writing instrument in whatever colour-accent combination you may choose. Highly recommended.
Super happy with my purchase. It's an absolutely beautiful pen. Everything about it is just beautiful.

Love my Cohiba lighter
Great watch and fast service
Nice design...but the most impressive thing it is the delivery time ...was so fast.
I liked the aesthetics of the pen and researched before purchasing. I asked Iguanasell for a nib size not displayed and they procured it for me and gave me an accurate timeframe. I am very satisfied with the professional service, the beautiful Rouge et Noir, and the smooth and “stubbish” OB nib.
I purchased this watch as a gift for my best friend. It is exactly as it looks in the picture - the blue is striking but subtle. It is an elegant watch but not outdated. It is definitely a versatile look and could be worn casually or to formal events. Ball makes a great product and has an interesting history to boot.
I wish Pelikan had issued this pen in the Summer of 2019 - specifically, 19th of July - the date (fifty years earlier) Neil Armstrong placed that epic footfall upon the surface of the moon; now that would have been most apposite.
The M205 (the ‘5’ denotes silvered accents) Moonstone is presented in one of Pelikan’s white gatefold cartons - a standard that has remained since the first Special Edition models were issued.
The pen rests in a diagonal slot, & a bottle of Moonstone ink - a silver-grey, below that. The writing instrument itself is a grey translucent demonstrator - so you are able to see the mechanics of the pen thru’ the cap & barrel, in which there are subtle sparkles within the plastic, making it slightly opaque. On closer inspection with a magnifying loupe, those glittery elements jump out at you in every spectral shade.
The cap crown has the usual Pelikan & one chick, appropriately printed in silver, with a chromed ferrule securing the clip - a stylised Pelikan bill.
Moving down the uniform barrel, there is a ring that separates the piston turning knob from the barrel.
Beneath the cap, we see the usual Steel nib - I selected a Fine, but wished I had gone to the Extra Fine, because modern Pelikan nibs tend to write a little broader than their designation: That said, the nib writes smoothly with the accompanying ink, which is more arid than usual, & surprised me when it dried - for the ink darkens, & shades very nicely.
If I had any suggestions to make to Pelikan, I would have offered this particular issue with a Rhodium plated gold nib - as an optional extra at point of sale; it is, after all, a Special Edition.
It is by no means the largest of pens - equal to that of the M400 series in length, slightly slimmer in girth. This is an ideal pen size for smaller hands, & even medium to large hands (when posted), it cradles well in the web space between forefinger & thumb. Posted, it balances finely, & there is no backweight from the cap.
Delightfully consistent build quality, I might imagine this to be an ideal Christmas gift - for novice, or more well seasoned pen enthusiast.
The quality of the fountain pen is excellent. Very pleased.
The quality of Iguana Sell’s communication, shipping service and customer relations is superb. Thank you

Here, Esterbrook have re-invented the “Estie” into a behemoth of a pen - the oversized fountain pen - it dwarfs many of its contemporaries by at least 8mm, is girthy, & not for small hands (tho’ there are smaller versions to accommodate such a scenario).
Classic cigar shape, finished in ‘Maraschino Red’ - a salutation to the cherry that adorned ice cream in 1950’s American drive-thru’ parlours - & that’s precisely the point: a throwback to simpler, uncomplicated times, & perfectly apposite to an era when Esterbrook was in their heyday.
The resin runs throughout cap, barrel & section; the nib is a well tuned stainless steel # 6, & writes effortlessly. I chose a fine nib which is true to its designation; the silvered accents are Palladium, & compliment the resin very well. There is little to identify the pen, save for a simple signature in white on the barrel, just below the line of the cap clip.
A medium weight pen, it does have a good heft in the hand, is solid, & the resin warms nicely to your skin; this is very comfortable.
When uncapping the pen, do be aware, the cap has a spring-loaded mechanism, so ensure you have a firm grip on that cap. There are no drying out issues, albeit, I have only ever left the pen unused for two days at a time.
A delightful writing instrument !!
This then, the Pelikan M600 in black & red stripe, lying in the mid range of this premium quality series.
It does not fail on any level - aesthetics, form & function (Bauhaus) - smooth writing experience, & with a generous ink capacity in the barrel, itself.
The 14K bi-coloured gold nib is slightly bouncy, but not to the degree of being unmannageable; it sits well in the hand (& I have large hands). Attention to detail is superlative - gold accents, clean lines, & well balanced - I can write with this all day !!
Granted, not the most inexpensive writing instrument, but then you have to consider what you're purchasing: Piston filling mechanism; 14K gold nib; unrelenting performance, & a sublime finish - what more could you ask for ? Thoroughly recommended.
Preordered this set for my boyfriend for Christmas. It shipped as soon as Iguana Sell got it into stock, cleared US customs very quickly, and arrived in perfect shape. The price was unbeatable, am extremely happy with this purchase and with Iguana Sell

Really like these Twsbi fountain pens, in every way. Cannot fault them, they write exceptionally well, have great nib and ink control. Very enjoyable every-day pen. Great value.
