Vostok Europe Lunokhod-2 combines a perpetual calendar, an alarm, and a 24-hour chronograph on a graphite dial with upright tritium tubes.
Lunokhod-2 landed on the Moon on January 15, 1973, and operated for about four months. It traveled roughly 39 km and returned 86 panoramic images and more than 80,000 photographs, setting a rover-distance record that stood into the 21st century. The watch takes its name from that mission, with a layered graphite dial beneath a hardened 3.5 mm K1 crystal.
Thirteen Swiss tritium tubes stand upright in reflectors on the dial, with two more in the hour and minute hands. They illuminate the readings without prior exposure to light. The Japanese Seiko Epson YM86 quartz movement supplies the time, a perpetual calendar, an audible alarm, and a 24-hour chronograph. The alarm has its own small hands, while the central hand changes between calendar and chronograph duties.
An anti-reflective coating reduces glare on the crystal. The 49 mm case is made from 316L stainless steel and measures 17.5 mm thick, with a screw-down crown and case back. Its bezel rotates in one direction, and a spring-loaded valve releases helium when the pressure difference reaches its threshold. Water resistance is rated at 20 atm.
Leather and silicone straps are included, both 25 mm at the lugs, with a replacement tool and a VE DryBox L. Production is limited to 3,000 watches.

Tritium gas activates a luminous coating inside sealed glass tubes, so they glow continuously without a battery or prior light exposure. This watch has 13 on the dial and two in the hands. The Swiss Trigalight elements are made by mb-microtec, which has supplied Vostok Europe since 2009. The glow gradually fades as the tritium decays.
They show the time selected for the audible alarm, which can be set to sound once within the coming 24 hours. They belong to the alarm function and are not an independently adjustable world-time display.
Once correctly set, it accounts for different month lengths and leap years without the usual end-of-month correction. The calendar is programmed through February 28, 2100. Its central hand also serves the chronograph, while the pushers call up the month and leap-year indications.
The valve releases helium that can enter the case during saturation diving. During decompression, gas trapped inside can create an outward pressure difference. The spring-loaded valve opens automatically at its threshold so the gas can escape.
