Venezianico Nereide Tungsteno 39 pairs a polished tungsten bezel with a natural mother-of-pearl dial whose reflections change with the light.
Cut from seashell, the mother-of-pearl forms a dial layer just 0.1 mm thick. Its natural layers produce iridescent reflections, revealing different shades as the wrist turns. The material is selected, shaped, and polished before the hour markers are applied.
A polished tungsten insert sits within the 120-click rotating bezel, placing a bright metallic border around the dial. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova glows in low light after exposure to light. Polished and satin-finished links carry the case’s finishes onto the steel Canova bracelet, which closes with a folding clasp.
The Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement displays hours, minutes, and seconds without a date. The 39 mm 316L stainless steel case is 10.5 mm thick and measures 45.5 mm from lug to lug. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, with a screw-down crown and 20 atm water resistance.
Nereide takes its name from a submarine built in Venice in the early 20th century. The vessel is depicted on the case back, connecting the rotating-bezel design with the city’s naval engineering.
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. The collection draws on that chapter of Venetian naval engineering for its maritime identity and rotating-bezel design.
No. The mother-of-pearl surface has natural variations in pattern and tone, so the photograph illustrates the model rather than the exact dial you will receive.
The polished tungsten insert is highly scratch-resistant, helping it retain its finish during everyday wear. It is a separate component from the case and still needs protection from hard impacts.
Align the bezel’s reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. As the hand advances, the scale shows elapsed minutes. With 120 clicks around a 60-minute scale, each click corresponds to half a minute. The bezel measures time independently of the movement.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli started Venezianico in late 2017 while studying at Ca’ Foscari in Venice. The company is based in San Donà di Piave.
