Venezianico Nereide GMT Ceratung™ combines ceramic and tungsten in its travel bezel, with a Swiss V3290 movement and a date display at 6 o’clock.
The Ceratung™ insert brings the gloss of black ceramic and the bright finish of tungsten into one bezel. The two materials have high scratch resistance, and their contrasting colors divide the 24-hour scale into two halves. The bezel turns in both directions through 24 clicks, working with the GMT hand to provide another time reference.
A lacquered black dial is bordered by a circular satin-finished 24-hour ring, with Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova supplying illumination. The date sits at 6 o’clock. The Sansovino steel bracelet carries the contrast between polished and satin-finished surfaces onto the wrist and closes with a folding clasp.
Soprod manufactures the V3290 in Switzerland on the C125 base. Its central GMT hand can be adjusted independently of the main time display. Developed with Venezianico, the movement has sandblasted bridges and a rhodium-plated skeletonized rotor. It offers a 42-hour power reserve, 25 jewels, Incabloc shock protection, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a stated regulated rate of -4/+6 seconds per day.
Final assembly and regulation take place at Venezianico’s atelier in Italy. The 316L stainless steel case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm from lug to lug, and 12.5 mm thick, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and 20 atm water resistance. The Nereide name recalls the Venetian-built submarine.
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. The collection draws on that chapter of Venetian naval engineering for its maritime identity and rotating-bezel design.
The GMT hand makes one circuit in 24 hours. Read it against the 24-hour scale for the reference time, while the main hands show the other zone. The full-day scale also tells you whether it is morning or evening at the reference location.
It brings black ceramic and bright tungsten into the same 24-hour bezel insert. Both are highly scratch-resistant, with Mohs hardness ratings listed by Venezianico as 8 for ceramic and 9 for tungsten. Their contrasting colors divide the travel scale visually.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
Soprod manufactures it in Switzerland on the C125 base, with finishing developed with Venezianico. The skeletonized rotor is rhodium-plated and the bridges are sandblasted. Final watch assembly and regulation take place at Venezianico’s Italian atelier.
