Venezianico Arsenale Meteorite reveals the natural crystalline pattern of an iron meteorite in a 40 mm steel watch with an integrated bracelet.
The gray dial’s intersecting Widmanstätten patterns formed as iron and nickel cooled slowly inside an ancient celestial body. Cutting the meteorite exposes a section of that natural structure. After finishing, an acid treatment brings the crystalline structure into view, and a thin protective layer preserves the surface. The pattern varies from one dial to another.
A thin meteorite disc sits on a sunray-finished brass base, creating a layered dial within a case just 9.95 mm thick. Applied hour markers and the Venezianico logo sit above the patterned surface, with Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova providing illumination in low light. The polished, knurled bezel contrasts with the satin-finished steel and the natural lines of the dial.
The 40 mm 316L stainless steel case measures 44 mm from lug to lug. It houses a Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement, displaying hours, minutes, and seconds without a date beneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 5 atm.
The Canova Concept™ integrated steel bracelet closes with a folding clasp. Engraved Arsenale towers on the back recall the Venetian shipyard that gives the collection its name.
The name comes from the Arsenale, the Venetian Republic’s shipyard. Its specialized workshops and sequential assembly methods supported the fleet long before modern factories. That history of organized metalworking is the starting point for the collection’s contemporary case design.
No. The meteorite surface has natural variations in pattern and tone, so the photograph illustrates the model rather than the exact dial you will receive.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
Miyota, part of the Citizen group, manufactures the 9039 in Japan. This 9-series automatic runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and also allows hand winding. Venezianico uses it in a watch made in Italy.
