Vostok Europe Almaz Quartz World Timer Watch with Green Dial.
The Almaz line is named for the Soviet space station project begun in the early 1960s, whose results the International Space Station was later built on. The Almaz World Timer adds a world timer, a 24-hour alarm, a 24-hour countdown and a 24-hour chronograph. The case measures 47 mm in stainless steel 316L, 15.4 mm deep.
The S.Epson YM8J quartz multifunction calibre, made in Japan, drives hours, minutes, date and the day of the week, beneath a K1 crystal with anti-reflective coating. The crown and case back screw down, inside a unidirectional rotating bezel.
The green dial sits in a case finished in rose gold PVD. Super-LumiNova coats the hands and indices. It ships with a leather strap, 22 mm at the lugs, closed by a buckle.

What was the Almaz programme?
A Soviet project begun in the early 1960s to build a core space station. Its results and findings fed into the International Space Station. Vostok Europe has built its watches in Vilnius, Lithuania, since August 2003, on Russian movements until 2014 and Japanese movements since.
How does the world time function work?
A separate hand pair shows the time in a 2nd city in 24-hour format, set independently from the main hands through the crown and the pushers.
What is K1 crystal?
A synthetic crystal that combines the shock resistance of hardened mineral glass with a scratch resistance close to sapphire. On these cases it carries an anti-reflective coating for readability.
Does it wear as big as the diameter suggests?
The distance between the lugs decides that, and here it is 54.8 mm. That span sits across the top of the wrist and matters more than the 47 mm of the case.
Who makes the movement?
Seiko Epson in Japan. Vostok Europe used Russian movements until 2014 and Japanese suppliers since, so the case is assembled in Lithuania around a Japanese quartz calibre.
