U-Boat cuts and finishes its straps in Tuscany by hand, to the lug widths its own cases carry. The Milanese Mesh Bracelet is woven from steel mesh in the Milanese pattern, on a clasp that slides along the weave.
It measures 22 mm between the lugs.
The finish is black. Fitting comes down to the 22 mm at the lugs, and nothing else has to match.

How is the Milanese mesh sized?
The clasp slides along the weave and locks where you close it, so you set the length by hand on the wrist. There are no links to remove and no tools involved.
Does changing the strap change the water resistance?
The seal lives in the case back, the crown and the crystal, so the rating travels with the watch and the strap is free to change. What matters at the lug is that the spring bar seats fully in both holes.
What is the IPB finish?
Ion plating in black. The coating metal is vaporised in a vacuum chamber and bonded to the steel as a hard layer, which holds up to daily abrasion far better than electroplating of the same thickness.
