The Capsoil collection fills the case completely with a low-viscosity oil, allowing the dial to be viewed through the fluid beneath a compensation bubble that accommodates thermal expansion between 0 and 60 °C. This Capsoil Darkmoon pairs its yellow dial with a matching strap. The PVD-treated case measures 44 mm in diameter and 17 mm thick.
A Swiss Ronda 762 quartz movement operates while submerged in the oil, protected beneath a curved sapphire crystal. The crown screws down, while a Locking Ring System on the case back provides access to the battery and oil without requiring factory intervention.
The dial is made of painted metal with a yellow finish. The watch is fitted with a yellow silicone strap secured by a steel pin buckle with PVD treatment.

What is the oil inside the case for?
It fills the space between the dial and the crystal. Light travels through the oil at nearly the same speed as through the crystal, making reflections disappear and the hands appear to sit on the surface. An air bubble accommodates changes in oil volume as the temperature changes.
Where does the U-Boat design come from?
The design traces its origins to a drawing Ilvo Fontana made in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, a diving watch that remained on paper. His grandson, Italo Fontana, revived the design in Lucca and founded U-Boat around its proportions and distinctive left-side crown.
What is the coating on the case?
The case uses physical vapor deposition. The coating metal is vaporized in a vacuum chamber and bonded to the steel as a hard surface layer, providing far greater resistance to everyday abrasion than electroplating of the same thickness.
Where is the movement from?
The movement is Swiss. U-Boat does not specify the caliber reference in the catalog, but identifies it as a Swiss quartz movement selected to operate while submerged in the oil used in these references.
Will it fit under a shirt cuff?
