U-Boat Capsoil Darkmoon 25° Quartz Watch with Green Dial.
Limited to 300 pieces worldwide. Low-viscosity oil completely fills the Capsoil case, with the dial viewed through the fluid. A compensation bubble accommodates thermal expansion between 0 and 60 °C. Created to mark U-Boat's 25th anniversary, this 25° version features a 46.5 mm uncoated stainless steel case.
A Swiss Ronda 762 quartz movement operates while submerged in the oil, protected beneath a domed sapphire crystal. The crown screws down, while a Locking Ring System on the case back provides access to the battery and oil without requiring factory intervention. The anniversary plaque sits at 6 o’clock beneath the 25th Anniversary logo.
The dial is made of black metal with a green sunray finish and features applied indices and numerals. The hands, indices, and numerals are treated with beige Super-LumiNova for legibility in low light. The watch is fitted with an ultra-resistant vulcanized rubber strap that can be released by hand at the lugs, measures 20 mm wide, and is secured by a steel pin buckle.

What does the oil inside the case do?
Oil fills the space between the dial and crystal. Light travels through it at nearly the same speed as through the crystal, making reflections disappear and the hands appear to rest on the surface. An air bubble accommodates changes in oil volume as the temperature changes.
Where does the U-Boat design come from?
The design traces its origins to a drawing Ilvo Fontana made in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, a diving watch that remained on paper. His grandson, Italo Fontana, revived the design in Lucca and founded U-Boat around its proportions and distinctive left-side crown.
How does a 46.5 mm case sit on the wrist?
It is a large watch. Compare the 46.5 mm diameter with a watch you already own before ordering, because the diameter determines the fit and is the measurement that photographs flatten. A loose cuff will fit over it.
How are watches in the limited edition numbered?
The series is limited to 300 pieces, and each case carries its individual number. Delivery of the final watch completes the reference’s production, supporting the value of a numbered series relative to a standard catalog model.
How long does Super-LumiNova glow?
Super-LumiNova is a phosphorescent pigment that charges in daylight or artificial light. Its glow is brightest during the first few minutes and gradually fades over the following hours. Exposure to light recharges it for the next use.
