Sailor was founded in 1911 by Mr. Kyugoro Sakata in Hiroshima, Japan. He was an engineer who, after first using a fountain pen, decided to produce his own fine writing instruments company. Sailor Pens then became the first company to produce fountain pens in Japan and one of the pioneers in the industry. From then until now, it continues to offer unmatched quality and a unique variety of these instruments that enhance the pleasure of writing.
