Platinum’s Coffee Jelly fountain pen brings the colors of a Japanese café dessert to the #3776 Century in shimmering cherry tones and dark brown.
Coffee jelly, a familiar dessert in traditional Japanese cafés, is the first subject in Platinum’s My Favourite Things collection. The design looks back to the atmosphere of the Showa era. Slightly translucent dark brown resin on the cap, grip, and end details recalls the jelly, while the shimmering cherry-colored barrel picks up the cherry served alongside it. Gold-finished accents bring the colors together.
The edition is limited to 2,000 fountain pens worldwide, each with a 14k gold nib. Slip & Seal seals the nib inside the screw-on cap to limit ink drying between uses. For filling, the pen accepts cartridges or a converter for bottled ink.
Dark Syrup Mixable Ink carries the dessert theme into the dedicated box. A 20 ml bottle of this specially blended ink is included, along with a converter and one blue-black cartridge.
Made in Japan, the pen measures 139.5 mm capped, with a barrel length of 119 mm and a barrel width of 16 mm. It weighs 20 g with the cap and 15 g without it. With the cap posted, it measures 153 mm in length.
