A turned resin body with PVD trim, with a 18k gold nib. The Capless line opened in 1963 and in 1966 the design took the Okochi Memorial Technology Prize for the invention and for getting it into production. A Pilot nib in 18k gold, filled by cartridge / converter and a click-action retractable mechanism, with no cap. For reference, with a body 12 mm in diameter. Official Pilot product, backed by the manufacturer's warranty.

Is the nib interchangeable between sizes?
All variants share the same body and only the nib size changes.
What filling system does it use?
It is filled by cartridge / converter; the makers own cartridges or converter are recommended to ensure a proper fit.
Does the nib dry out when there is no cap to close?
No. A shutter inside the head stays closed under spring pressure and the nib pushes it open on the way out, so the nib sits in a sealed chamber whenever it is retracted.
Is it a limited edition?
Yes, a limited edition of 2025 units, numbered.
How is the resin cared for?
Wipe it with a soft slightly damp cloth, avoiding solvents and abrasive products.
Is the colour uniform across the whole production?
Yes, the resin is factory-dyed in the same tone for the entire series.
