Visconti Homo Sapiens Lava Bronze is a fountain pen that combines history, design, and technology in a single piece. Its body is made from volcanic lava from Mount Etna, a resistant material with a warm feel that makes each pen practically indestructible. It is filled by high vacuum power filler; the makers own cartridges or converter are recommended to ensure a proper fit.

Wipe it with a soft slightly damp cloth, avoiding solvents and abrasive products.

J'ai acheté cet article du fait qu'il soit composé de lave ainsi que de résine (50/50) je dois avouer qu'il est plaisant à utiliser, la plume (fine) glisse bien malgré le fait qu'elle soit plutôt tipée rigide !
En tout cas si vous avez des doutes je vous conseille de l'avoir en main avant de l'acheter, sa taille et sa texture spéciale ne convient pas forcément à tout le monde !
En tout cas je recommande vivement ce produit !

I was eyeing this pen for quite a while and finally decided to treat myself and pull the trigger. The pen was delivered very quickly, quicker than expected honestly, but I am not complaining in the slightest. The actual Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age fountain pet itself came well packaged, with warranty and the nib out of the box wrote and continues to write spectacularly, especially given that there were some concerns about nib quality issues with Visconti that I heard of. However, with my Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age FP, those issues are non-present. Overall I had a great experience with IguanaSells and will definitely be doing business with them again. PS; they do an internal quality assurance test too, so that’s always a nice bonus to have especially given the money being spent in this particular case.

Ich nehme es vorweg, der Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age ist der Hammer. Wenn man glaubt, dass es in der großen Welt der Füllhalter eigentlich keine wirkliche Überraschung mehr geben kann, hat man einfach den Visconti noch nicht in der Hand gehalten. Er hat eine geniale Optik, mit seinem Füllmechanismus und dem Verschlusssystem ganz außergewöhnliche Specs, eine mit nichts zu vergleichende Haptik und die Feder bietet beim schreiben das absolut perfekte Feedback. Da ich Federstärke F wollte, die Italiener nach meiner bisherigen Erfahrung aber in der Regel eine Nummer kleiner ausfallen, habe ich ihn in 'M' bestellt, was die genau richtige Entscheidung war. Ich würde sagen, die Strichstärke bewegt sich zwischen F und F+, was unabhängig der Schriftgröße ein perfektes Schriftbild aufs Papier bringt. Und es gibt neben der außerdem perfekten Größe und dem genau richtigen Gewicht (ohne Kappe bringt er befüllt sehr angenehme 30g auf die Waage) noch einen ganz wichtigen Punkt zu erwähnen, der mich absolut begeistert: der Homo Sapiens ist auf sehr hohem Niveau verarbeitet, was bei dem Preis ja auch erwartet werden darf, aber wenn man ihn mit ganz scharfem Auge betrachtet, hat er nicht diese maschinell anmutende Fertigungsperfektion eines Meisterstücks oder eines Pelikan Souverän. Aber genau das macht es ja aus, genau das passt 100% zum italienischen Lifestyle. Fazit: für mich bekommt der Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age 6 von 5 Sternen.

Er ist nicht preiswert, aber seinen Preis wert. Der Füller ist sehr edel, hat ein schönes Gewicht und liegt gut und angenehm in der Hand. ich schreibe ohne aufgesetzte Kappe, damit käme er aus dem Gleichgewicht. Der Verschluss ist außergewöhnlich. Das Füllsystem funktioniert prima, die Tinte fließt sofort. Die bronzefarbene Feder (ich habe B) ist butterweich. Ich kann den Visconti uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

The pen is excellent. The filling mechanism is brilliant and it looks and feels amazing.
The nib did need adjusting out of the box as do a lot of viscontis, a simple shim between the tines and a flex session solved the dryness. But the nib itself writes great with adequate flow. I would not let the adjustment put you off buying this pen it’s still a life time pen and is well worth the money.

Unfortunately the pen did not work after many attempts with different ink. However customer service were brilliant and paid to have the pen returned returned. Ultimately the problem is with Visconti, not Iguanasell.

Mine is a M nib, and fuelled with a dry ink, Pelikan 4001 blue-black, it is exceptionally well-behaved and a joy for me to write with. An excellent price, all fees etc to UK covered.

A much desired pen by many, and the pen does not disappoint in the style stakes, as with many Visconti pens.
The nib write consistently and as advertised ( a Fine is actually fine), but quite toothy. As ever, you buy a Visconti then need the last 10% done by a nibmeister, but then it will be excellent.

First off the nub was scratchy as hell. I emailed their support and never got a reply. I’m a novice, what do I know except I have $20 pens that write beautifully.
Anyway, I have done some nib tuning on my own ( taking quite a risk it seems) and managed to get the nib to a place I am kind of comfortable with. I am for now going to count my blessings and count myself fortunate!
All in all I love the pen for the design an form of it, but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing another Visconti anytime soon.
