Pelikan 1000 fountain pen: a turned resin body with 24 k gold trim. A Pelikan nib in 18k gold rhodium plated, filled by piston filler and a twist cap. In the hand, measures 145 mm capped with a body 15 mm in diameter. Pelikan product with official factory warranty.
The M1000 model features the 'extra large' design in the Souverän range. The barrel material is composed of a cotton base, a formula developed especially for Pelikan. It features the characteristic Pelikan rings, on the upper barrel and cap, and the 18-karat gold nib.

Is the nib interchangeable between sizes?
All variants share the same body and only the nib size changes.
What filling system does it use?
It is filled by piston filler: the base of the body is turned to drive the internal piston and draw ink straight from a bottle, with no cartridge or converter.
How much bigger is the M1000 than the M800?
It measures 145 mm capped against 140 mm and weighs 35 g.
How is the resin cared for?
Wipe it with a soft slightly damp cloth, avoiding solvents and abrasive products.
Is the colour uniform across the whole production?
Yes, the resin is factory-dyed in the same tone for the entire series.
What warranty does it carry?
It includes 3 years of official Pelikan warranty.

Le savoir faire de Pelikan se fait clairement ressentir avec ce M1000. J’ai personnellement opté pour une taille de plume EF. Dans tous les cas c’est une plume vraiment à part de ce qu’on peut trouver sur le marché. Douce, souple, réactive et précise. Elle donne du caractère à l’écriture de manière naturelle.
Un petit conseil avant l’achat : renseignez-vous sur la taille de la plume qui écrit légèrement plus gros que les tailles habituelles.

This is a wonderful pen to use. I bought it with a medium nib which glides over paper and has a loveky soft bounce. Minimal feedback.
Downside is the new material used for the body, it's now opaque so you cannot see the ink level.

I have bought the Pelikan M1000 three times, and all times with different nib-issues. On this one, there were hard-starts on every 6th side-stroke (or so ...). It really takes the pleasure away from writing with such a beautiful pen, because when the nib works, it is a very nice writer indeed, with a good weight and masterful craftmanship to it. But considering the price, the nib-issues is a clear deal-breaker and totally unacceptable, which made me return it. The M1000 is a wet writer, a big pen, and with a classic design and good ink-capacity.

Very happy happy with this beautiful writing instrument. It writes a little bolder and wetter than I expected, but it definitely places a clear and lucid line on paper! I ordered the fine nib, which is quite a work of art, and find it work great on almost any paper. Also, produces an excellent line in reverse! The Pelican M1000 is a pen that I have wanted for a long time and I have not been able to find the body/nib combination that I wanted in the US. This was my first order from Iguana Sell and I must admit I was a bit apprehensive of ordering a pen from an international site. Their prompt filing and shipping of my order was amazing! I bought this fountain pen after saving for long time but it was totally worth it. This is my first Pelikan and I have decided to go big and it was the best decision I have made . This pen glides on paper with smoothness . Plus it has little bit of flex that gives some line variation too . And the customer service of iguanasells was amazing . The agent answer promptly on WhatsApp which is mind blowing . Also the price was so great that I can’t find comparable. They shipped on Tuesday and it arrived here on Friday in 4 days

Esta pluma la suele tener muy buenas críticas y tras usarla unos días puedo decir que se ajustan a la realidad. Tacto agradaba, trazo fluido y muy muy bonita.
En algunos comentarios en internet he leído que es demasiado grande. Para mi gusto no lo es, es grande sí, pero para nada excesiva. Resulta comodísima de manejar. Por hacer un matiz diré que el plumín sí que reuilta un poco grande, no a la hora de escribir pero sí a la hora de cargarla. Es una pluma de émbolo y la única forma de cargarla es mediante tintero. Pues bien, al ser tan grande el plumín en cuanto el tintero está mediado coge aire. La solución que he encontrado es ir rellenando un tintero con otro para que siempre tenga buen nivel de tinta.
