Venezianico Redentore Avventurina 40 Automatic Watch with Blue Dial.
The Redentore line takes its name from the Basilica del Redentore, the Venetian masterpiece of Andrea Palladio, and every case back in the line carries the church engraved. This one cuts the 40 mm dial from aventurine, the Venetian glass that holds metallic flakes in suspension. The case measures 40 mm in stainless steel, 11 mm deep.
The NH35A winds itself from the motion of the wrist.
The flakes suspended in the blue glass throw the light back as separate points, which is what gives the dial the depth of a night sky where a flat colour would stop at the surface. The stone is cut to a layer 0.4 mm thick over a brass base, which is what lets a natural dial sit in a case this flat. It is worn on blue leather.

What is the Basilica del Redentore?
The church Andrea Palladio raised on the Giudecca in Venice, the work that carried the neoclassical line into architecture. Every case back in this line carries it engraved, which is where the collection takes its proportions and its name. Venezianico was started in late 2017 by the brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli while they were studying at Ca’ Foscari in Venice, and it works out of San Donà di Piave.
Will the dial look exactly like the photograph?
The pattern on it is cut from a natural material, so the veining, the figure and the distribution of light differ from one piece to the next. The colour and the finish match the photograph. The grain is proper to the piece you receive.
How thick is the stone on the dial?
It is cut to 0.4 mm and laid over a brass base. That is what lets a natural stone dial fit a case of this depth, and it is also why the pattern you get is a single slice of one piece of rock.
What do you do if it has stopped?
Turn the crown about 20 times to put some wind in the mainspring, set the time, and put it on. From there the weight inside keeps it wound as long as you wear it most days.
How hard is the sapphire crystal?
Synthetic sapphire sits at 9 on the Mohs scale, just under diamond, so the everyday abrasives that mark a mineral crystal leave it alone. It is brittle in exchange, so a sharp impact on the edge is what to avoid.
