Ball Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Automatic Watch with Green Dial.
Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. Roadmaster takes the Engineer protection into specialized instruments: tide tables, pulsometers, triple time zones and moon phases, each one built around a job. Beneath a ceramic bezel insert that turns in one direction, the Rescue Chronograph times up to 12 hours and measures a pulse over 15 beats. The titanium case measures 41 mm across and 14.8 mm thick.
The Ball RR1402 provides a 42-hour power reserve. Tritium gas in 37 sealed glass tubes lights the hands, the indices and the bezel, each one self-powered for 25 years, while the case absorbs impact to 5,000 Gs and magnetic protection reaches 4,800 A/m.
The bezel is ceramic, which holds its color under ultraviolet light and stands up to abrasion. The 37 tubes hold the same brightness year after year, on their own energy.

What happens to the gas tubes over the years?
The 37 tubes hold tritium gas, which emits its own light through radioactive decay, continuously and on its own energy. Tritium has a half-life of 12.3 years, so the glow fades slowly. Ball rates the tubes for at least 25 years of useful reading.
Is it affected by magnets?
The case provides magnetic protection to 4,800 A/m, which covers the everyday sources that shift the rate of a mechanical watch.
What does the Amortiser system do?
A ring around the movement damps the shock before it reaches the gear train, and a brake holds the rotor so that an impact cannot spin it violently on its axis, which is how a shock usually damages an automatic movement.
What is the pulsometer scale for?
You start the chronograph, count 15 heartbeats and stop it. The scale reads the rate per minute straight off the dial.
Does the crown screw down?
Yes. It threads into the case and compresses its gasket, which is what holds the water resistance. Unscrew it to set the time, and screw it back down before the watch goes near water.
