Vostok Europe Jurgis Kairys Unlimited Aerobatics Quartz Chronograph Watch with Black Dial.
The Jurgis Kairys line comes from the work of the Lithuanian pilot of that name, Unlimited aerobatics world champion and an ambassador of the house. This one holds the tribute in the smaller case of the pair, on a mecha-quartz chronograph whose hand flies back to zero at a push. The case measures 43 mm in stainless steel 316L, 15.3 mm deep.
The TMI VK68 quartz calibre drives it. A mechanical chronograph module sits over the quartz timekeeping, which is what carries the timing hand round in a sweep and flies it back to zero at a push.
The dial is matt black. The case is finished in black PVD. It comes with a red and black silicone strap drawn from the pilot SU-31.

Who is Jurgis Kairys?
A Lithuanian pilot, Unlimited aerobatics world champion and an ambassador of the house. The watch was developed with him, and its red strap takes the livery of the SU-31 he flies. The house has worked out of Vilnius since August 2003—its movements came from Russia until 2014 and have been Japanese since.
What is a mecha-quartz chronograph?
A hybrid. Quartz keeps the time and a mechanical module drives the chronograph, so the timing hand sweeps round the dial in a continuous arc where a quartz chronograph steps once a second, and it flies back to zero at the push of the reset.
What is K1 crystal?
A hardened mineral glass whose surface is chemically strengthened, which lifts its scratch resistance well above ordinary mineral glass while keeping the give that stops it shattering on a knock. On these cases it is domed and coated to cut reflections.
Does it wear as big as the diameter suggests?
What decides that is the distance between the lugs, and here it is 52.6 mm. That is the span the case takes across the top of the wrist, and it matters more than the 43 mm of the bezel, which overhangs on either side of it.
Who makes the movement?
Seiko Instruments in Japan, which most of the trade still calls TMI. Vostok Europe fitted Russian movements until 2014 and has used Japanese suppliers since, which is why the case and the assembly are Lithuanian and the quartz calibre inside is Japanese.
