Venezianico Nereide Verdigris Automatic Watch with Turquoise Dial.
The Nereide line is the diving register of the house, named for the Nereide, a submarine of Venetian naval engineering dating to 1919, and it carries the deepest water ratings Venezianico builds. This one oxidises a brass dial under control, so the patina lands in greens and blues proper to that piece. The case measures 42 mm in stainless steel, 12.5 mm deep.
The SW 200-1 winds itself from the motion of the wrist.
The turquoise stone runs its own matrix of dark veining across the dial, so the pattern on this one belongs to the slice it was cut from. It is worn on turquoise rubber.

What does the name Nereide refer to?
A submarine of 1919 that the house calls a marvel of Venetian naval engineering. The line is the diving register of Venezianico, rated to 200 metres, with a bezel that turns in 120 clicks and a bezel insert harder than the steel around it. Venezianico was started in late 2017 by the brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli while they were studying at Ca’ Foscari in Venice, and it works out of San Donà di Piave.
Will the dial look exactly like the photograph?
The pattern on it is cut from a natural material, so the veining, the figure and the distribution of light differ from one piece to the next. The colour and the finish match the photograph. The grain is proper to the piece you receive.
Why is the bezel insert made of tungsten?
Tungsten is far harder than the steel around it, so the insert holds its finish through the knocks that would dull a steel bezel. It is the detail the house repeats across the diving line.
How does the dive bezel turn?
In 120 clicks, so each click is half a minute and the marker lands exactly where you put it. You set the marker to the minute hand at the start of a dive and read elapsed time off the scale from there.
What do you do if it has stopped?
Turn the crown about 20 times to put some wind in the mainspring, set the time, and put it on. From there the weight inside keeps it wound as long as you wear it most days.
