Timex T80 x TVBOY Digital Quartz Watch with Grey Display.
The T80 line brings back the digital watch the house sold through the 1980s, in the same small case and on the same steel band that resizes by hand. This one carries the work of the street artist TVBOY across the strap, on a display that reads the day, the date and an alarm. The case measures 34 mm.
The movement is quartz. The display reads in figures and the functions are set from the case buttons.
The grey display reads in figures and takes up the whole face, which is what lets a case this small carry the day and the date at once. The case is held to a single silver tone across every surface. It is worn on resin.

What is INDIGLO?
An electroluminescent layer behind the dial. Timex developed INDIGLO in the early 1990s and the whole face lights at the push of a button, which reads in the dark where painted markers have already faded.
How does an acrylic crystal hold up?
It takes a knock that would shatter glass, which is why aviation and space watches used it for decades. It marks more easily in exchange, and a scuff polishes out at home with a cloth and a little compound.
What was the original T80?
The digital watch the house sold through the 1980s, in a small steel case on an expansion band. The line brings that case back with the same lit display. The house carries the Waterbury Watch Company of Connecticut behind it, and the stylised W of that company still appears on the dials and crowns of the Waterbury line.
What happens when the cell runs down?
A watchmaker opens the back, fits a new one and reseals the gasket. On a digital module the settings go back to their defaults, so you set the time and the date again afterwards.
Can you change the strap?
Yes. The lugs take a standard spring bar at 18 mm, so any band of that width fits, and a watchmaker swaps it in a couple of minutes.
