U-Boat Chimera Chronograph Automatic Watch with Green Dial.
Limited to 300 pieces worldwide. The Chimera collection secures a polished tungsten bezel to the case back through external lugs and lug screws designed for a custom key, with every series limited to a fixed number of pieces. This Chimera Chronograph houses a Sellita SW 500 movement beneath a smoked mineral-glass side window. The stainless steel case measures 46 mm.
A Swiss SW 500 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, date, and 24-hour indication beneath an optical sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. A patented Crown Release System lever is positioned at 8:30 beneath a large screw-down crown cover, while five screws secure the case back directly to the bezel.
The dial consists of two overlapping levels. The upper level is made of painted striped metal with laser-cut numerals, indices, and counters, while the lower level is made of smoked sapphire. The dial is green. The watch is fitted with a leather strap secured by a steel pin buckle.

Why does the crown sit on the left?
The design traces its origins to a watch Ilvo Fontana drew in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, with the crown positioned on the left side so the hands could be set from that side. His grandson, Italo Fontana, founded U-Boat in Lucca around the original design, adding the patented clamp that secures the crown.
How do you use the chronograph?
The upper pusher starts and stops the timing hand, while the lower pusher resets it to zero. The dial registers record the minutes and hours elapsed after the central hand completes its first rotation.
Why is the bezel made of tungsten?
Tungsten is significantly harder than steel, so a polished tungsten bezel retains its mirror finish through knocks that would dull a steel bezel. U-Boat adopted it as one of its own innovations, alongside the left-side crown and the patented release that frees the crown from its stop.
How does a 46 mm case sit on the wrist?
It is a large watch. Compare the 46 mm diameter with a watch you already own before ordering, because the diameter determines the fit and is the measurement that photographs flatten. A loose cuff will fit over it.
How is the edition numbered?
The series is limited to 300 pieces, and each case carries its individual number. Once the final piece has been delivered, the reference is complete, supporting the value of a numbered series relative to a standard catalog model.
