Overview
The Pelikan Souverän M800 Black-Green gives the familiar green-and-black pinstripes the proportions of the larger 800 design. Its striped cellulose acetate is made to Pelikan's own formulation. The material takes several months to form before it is shaped and diamond-cut to the barrel's final contour.
Black resin parts and gold-plated trim frame the striped barrel. Decorative rings mark the cap and filling knob, and the beak-shaped clip provides the characteristic Pelikan detail. The German-made fountain pen has an 18k gold nib with rhodium decoration, a piston filling system for bottled ink, and a screw-on cap.
The barrel measures 127 mm in length, and overall length with the cap posted is 165 mm. The barrel is 15 mm wide, and the pen weighs 18 g without the cap.

Questions & Answers
How is the green-and-black barrel made?
Pelikan forms the striped cellulose acetate using its own formulation, a process that takes several months. The material is then shaped and cut with a diamond to create the barrel's final contour.
Where are the decorative rings placed?
The gold-plated rings decorate the cap and filling knob. Together with the beak-shaped clip, they frame the green-and-black striped barrel and black resin parts.
Does it use cartridges or bottled ink?
It uses bottled ink and has a built-in piston filling system. Turning the filling knob operates the piston to fill the internal reservoir; it does not use cartridges or a separate converter.
