The Montegrappa Skulls & Roses fountain pen carries a continuous skull-and-rose pattern around a sterling silver body. The Gothic decoration draws on imagery associated with rebirth in religion, art, and music, expressed through tattoo-style engraving and a lightly textured, satin antiqued finish.
Based on the Extra, the design continues Montegrappa's exploration of skull imagery after Chaos, Day of the Dead, and Fortuna Skull. Introduced as the first Extra special edition since 2020, it brought a new approach to engraving to that lineage. A red cubic zirconia and a magma-colored Montegrappite grip section provide its accents of color.
The Italian-made fountain pen has an 18k gold nib and a piston filling system for bottled ink. Its edition comprises 333 fountain pens, presented in a walnut case with a personalized plaque and certificate.
It measures 138 mm capped with a 16.6 mm barrel width and weighs 74 g with the cap.
