Bauhaus Aviation Tornado Quartz Chronograph Watch with Blue Dial.
Made under official license for the Tornado, the aircraft that first flew in 1974, the Aviation Tornado line builds satin-finished pilot’s watches. The Tornado Chronograph sets two counters and a date among its large numerals, in a stainless steel case 42 mm in diameter and 12 mm thick.
A Japanese Miyota 6S21 quartz movement times to 1/4 second, up to 59 minutes and 59 seconds, behind a K1 safety mineral crystal. The battery lasts approximately 2 years, after which a watchmaker can replace it.
Beige luminous numerals and indices mark the blue dial, paired with luminous hands. The brown leather strap measures 22 mm at the lugs and closes on a pin buckle.

Is the Tornado name official?
Yes. The line is made under official license for the Tornado, and the aircraft’s name is printed on the dial.
Where is it made?
In Ruhla, Thuringia, where precision parts have been made since 1862 and watches since 1892, and where the VEB Uhrenwerk Ruhla once built millions of watches. POINTtec, the family company founded in 1987 that designs every model in-house, assembles them in its own listed Bauhaus building of 1929, which is also home to the Ruhla watch museum. The movement is Japanese.
How does the chronograph work?
The upper pusher starts and stops the timing, and the lower pusher resets it. The minutes counted by the central hand pass to their own subdial.
Can I swim with it?
The case is rated to 5 bar, and the leather strap sets the limit — water and sweat soak into leather and break it down. Keep the watch to rain and hand-washing, and fit a rubber or metal strap of the same lug width before swimming.
What is K1 mineral crystal?
A specially hardened mineral crystal that Bauhaus uses for its scratch resistance in daily wear. It is tougher than standard mineral crystal, and sapphire is harder still.
