Venezianico Nereide Tigris brings the moving golden reflections of natural tiger’s eye to a 42 mm steel watch with a micro-adjustable Sansovino bracelet.
Golden and amber bands move across the brown dial as the viewing angle changes. This effect, known as chatoyancy, comes from the fibrous structure of tiger’s eye, a variety of quartz. The reflections belong to the stone itself, so every dial has its own pattern rather than a repeated decoration.
Each slab is oriented to follow the mineral fibers before waterjet cutting and thinning produce a disc approximately 0.4 mm thick. The stone is polished and mounted on a brass base before the markers and other details are applied. The design recalls Venice’s role in the trade routes linking East and West, through which gemstones reached the city’s workshops.
A polished tungsten insert frames the dial in a 120-click rotating bezel. Venezianico specifies a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale for the insert. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the stone, with luminous hands and Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova on the hour markers.
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. Its 316L stainless steel case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm from lug to lug, and 12.5 mm thick. A screw-down crown accompanies the 20 atm water-resistance rating, equivalent to 200 meters. The engraved back depicts the Nereide submarine that gives the collection its name.
The five-link Sansovino steel bracelet combines satin-brushed surfaces with polished accents. Its folding clasp allows tool-free micro-adjustment, so small changes to the fit can be made without removing links. The first production batch comprises 500 watches; that figure applies to the initial batch rather than all future production.

Why do the golden bands seem to move?
Tiger’s eye has a fibrous mineral structure that produces chatoyancy. As the angle of the light changes, bright bands appear to travel across the surface. The effect comes from the stone, not from an applied sunburst finish.
Will the dial match the photograph exactly?
No. Each slice of tiger’s eye has its own arrangement of fibers and color bands. The photograph shows the model, while the precise mineral pattern varies from watch to watch.
How is the thin stone dial supported?
The tiger’s eye is cut to approximately 0.4 mm and mounted on brass. Before cutting, the slab is oriented along its fibers to bring out the chatoyancy. Polishing is completed before the markers and other details are applied.
Is the whole model limited to 500 watches?
The first production batch comprises 500 watches. That figure applies to the initial run, rather than establishing a limit for every future Tigris watch.
How can I make small adjustments to the bracelet fit?
The Sansovino folding clasp has tool-free micro-adjustment. It allows small changes in bracelet length without taking out links, alongside the bracelet’s usual link sizing.
Why use tungsten around the stone dial?
The polished tungsten insert provides a bright frame and high scratch resistance. It sits in a 120-click elapsed-time bezel, separate from the 316L stainless steel case. Its hardness does not make it immune to hard impacts.
