Bronze, sealed to 300 meters
The case and the 120-click bezel insert are QAl9-4 bronze, an aluminum-bronze marine alloy that develops a patina over time. This model was the first in the Nereide collection with a screw-down 316L steel back, which keeps the bronze off your wrist.
The Horses of St. Mark
The warm metal recalls the Horses of St. Mark, engraved on the case back in sandblasted and radial satin finishes.
A smoky black dial
The brass dial has a semi-matte black finish that deepens toward the edge. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova, charged by daylight or artificial light, helps you read the time in the dark.
The details
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement shows hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The bronze case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm lug to lug, and 12.5 mm thick.
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, the crown screws down, and water resistance is rated at 300 meters. The black Italian rubber strap closes with a pin buckle. The name Nereide comes from a Venetian-built submarine of 1919, part of the city’s maritime history.

What does the name Nereide refer to?
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. Its naval engineering history inspired the collection’s maritime design and rotating bezels.
How does the rotating bezel measure elapsed time?
Align the bezel’s reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. As the hand advances, the scale shows elapsed minutes. With 120 clicks around a 60-minute scale, each click corresponds to half a minute. The bezel measures time independently of the movement.
How will the bronze case change with wear?
Oxidation gradually changes the bronze’s tone and surface. Moisture, handling, and exposure affect how the patina develops, so the color and rate of aging vary from case to case.
How do I restart the watch after it has stopped?
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
What does sapphire’s hardness mean in everyday wear?
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
