Venezianico Nereide 42 pairs a green sunburst dial with a clear BK7 glass bezel insert and the polished and brushed links of a Canova bracelet.
Fine lines radiate across the green brass dial, moving the reflection as the wrist turns. The surrounding 316L stainless steel case alternates curved surfaces with sharply defined edges. Its horizontal surfaces are polished, while fine brushing on the sides gives the steel a quieter finish.
The 120-click rotating bezel has a polished BK7 glass insert, chosen for its optical clarity and low dispersion. The insert covers the elapsed-time scale, while a separate sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protects the dial. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova provides illumination in low light after exposure to light.
The Japanese NH35A automatic movement displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm from lug to lug, and 12.8 mm thick, with water resistance rated at 20 atm, equivalent to 200 meters.
The Canova steel bracelet continues the polished and brushed finishes of the case. Its registered design requires 16 different molds, and the butterfly clasp integrates with the final center link to keep the bracelet’s lines continuous. Nereide takes its name from the submarine built in Venice, connecting the watch with the city’s naval engineering.

What inspired the Nereide name?
It refers to the submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. The collection draws on that history of naval engineering for its maritime identity and rotating-bezel design.
What gives the dial its changing reflections?
Fine radial lines in the green brass dial create the sunburst finish. Neighboring areas catch the light at different angles, so the reflection changes as the watch moves.
Is the bezel insert the same material as the watch crystal?
No. The bezel insert is BK7 optical glass, selected for clarity and low dispersion. The crystal over the dial is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating. They are separate components with different roles.
How does the rotating bezel measure elapsed time?
Align its reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. The advancing hand then reads elapsed minutes against the bezel scale. Its 120 clicks allow the marker to move in half-minute steps.
Does the automatic movement need a battery?
No. The Japanese NH35A runs on energy stored in a mainspring. A rotor winds it as the watch moves on your wrist, and it can also be wound by hand. The movement powers the time and date displays.
How does the bracelet clasp fit into the design?
The Canova bracelet’s butterfly clasp integrates with the last center link, preserving the bracelet’s continuous appearance when closed. The bracelet is stainless steel, with polished and brushed finishes matching the case.
