Dupont joins Louis Cartier in New York to sell his travel cases at the Cartier boutique on Fifth Avenue, becoming an instant success on an international level. It was not until 1941 when S.T. Dupont created his first luxury lighter, an exquisite solid gold piece ordered by the Indian Maharajah of Patiala.
