The chosen color to open June is blue. The Modern English word comes from the Middle English bleu or blewe, from the old French bleu, a word of Germanic origin blao.
We can found this color just looking up to the sky, or in case of being close to the coast, in the sea. Why is the sky blue? Because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colors because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.
There it goes some curiosities about blue color:

-"Blue" can be used in a sentence to say that someone is drunk (Germany), novice (France) or young (Japan)
