From the middle of the 19th century on, Eterna watches regularly found themselves at the heart of pivotal events. Such was the case in 1939, for instance, when the Czechoslovak authorities called on Eterna. The country's military pilots urgently needed a wristwatch made to precise specifications.
Eterna was happy to oblige, soon supplying a design that today still attracts steady interest. So much so, in fact, that the company has just reissued it under the "Military" name in the Heritage collection, in a pair of subtly improved designs that nonetheless successfully capture the piece's original spirit.
