Nicely made and finished product, well presented. Not sure about how useful it is when writing a journal as it could get in the way. Because of its weight, it could only be used when reading large hardback books. It does however double up as a pen rest as well. I was originally looking for a pen stand, there doesn't seem to be many quality ones on the market.
