As a first time watch buyer it wasn’t easy making an online purchase. I had to do a lot of research on both - what watch to get, and which retailer to get it from.

Having watched a tonne of videos on everything that’s available in the 1K$ range for a dress watch, I finally settled on the understated elegance of the Junghans Maxbill design. The only question left was what size to get. Personally, I prefer a watch with a smaller presence on my wrist. So, I hesitantly chose 34 mm and wondered if I had chosen far below the modern standard for a male wrist.

As for the retailer, there weren’t enough reviews available to pick from but Iguana sell seemed to be legit and I was getting the best deal on this watch in the precise configuration I wanted, sapphire crystal and all. Once again, I reluctantly took a shot wondering whether it was ok to order a watch from outside the US.

But here’s the good part, I was right on both counts. I picked a great watch from a great retailer.

The watch arrived in a few days, nicely packed and secure. Iguana sell’s email notifications about the delivery were on point as well.

About the watch, its a beautiful dial that both me and my wife absolutely love. The strap is ok, but I already replaced it with a burgundy leather strap that gives it a bolder presence on my wrist. Lastly, as a first time purchaser I actually enjoy engaging with the dial every morning to hand wind the watch.

This deal has my stamp of approval for sure!
